Safety Tips

ITSMYSCHOOLGIST

SAFETY TIPS

A lady's handbag which contained her cell phone, credit card, purse etc was stolen.

Thirty minutes later she managed to call her husband from a pay telephone, telling him what happened.

Her husband said, "I just received your text message asking about our pin number and I have replied a little while ago".

When they rushed to the bank, the staff told them their money was already withdrawn.

The thief had used the stolen cell phone to text her husband and get hold of their pin number.

Within twenty minutes he (thief) had withdrawn their money from their bank account.

As much as possible do not disclose the relationship between you and the people on your call list.
Avoid using names like Home, Honey,Sweetheart, Mum, Dad etc.

And very importantly, when sensitive information is being asked for through text message, confirm by Calling Back.

Also, when being texted by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them.

If you do not reach them, be very careful about going places to meet family and friends who text you.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON. You will never know who this might help.

Very important information.
Nevertheless, I think its important to still store the names as it should be...
This is important in emergency situations, such phone loss, accident and so on

The way is just to always call back and ask family questions to confirm

UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR POST-UTME FOR 2015/2016 ACADEMIC SESSION

ITS MY SCHOOL GIST

POST UME INFO

UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR POST-UTME FOR 2015/2016 ACADEMIC SESSION

Are you a Unical aspirant hopefully and patiently waiting for the forth coming Unical 2015/2016 POST-UTME examination? Are you looking forward to the date of the Post-UTME and yet don’t have valid information as regard that? If you have been surfing the internet for information on when University of Calabar 2015/2016 Post-UTME will hold and how to do your registration then I congratulate you because you are at the right place. And I assure you that this is the best thing that will ever happen to you in the history of your academic race as we will make everything easy for you and help you gain admission into University of Calabar this year. So my advice for you is to read this Post from one line to the next and paragraph to paragraph because if you miss a single sentence in the article you might miss the most important information that will help you succeed.

University of Calabar Post-UTME is usually schedule exactly two months after the release of UTME result, the reason for the two months delay after UTME is simply because JAMB as a body regulating admission of all the University and tertiary institutions in Nigeria, including University of Calabar have to send the information of all the candidates that are legible and qualify to partake in the post-UTME for that year, which means those that score up to the Post-UTME cut off mark for that year to their various choice of institution before they give every school the go ahead to conduct post-UTME and this normally take JAMB about two months to carry out. That is why when you come to write your Post-UTME you will see the officials with the original list displaying your name and other information about you including the passport photograph you used for your JAMB registration. This original list is referred to as the MASTER LIST. If by any means your name is not found on the list you are automatically disqualified and that means you have to wait for another year. That is why JAMB takes time to compile the list before sending it to the various schools and I believe you won’t mind waiting for two months after UTME rather than rushing and find your name missing in the master list.

DATE AND EXAMINATION VENUE FOR UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR 2015/2016 POST-UTME
University of Calabar Post-UTME last the duration of two (2) days, and the venues are arranged according to the departments and faculties. The venue and sitting arrangement will be posted on Unical official website about ten (10) days before the Post-UTME which I am going to help you with later.  Remember I said the exercise will take two days, the venue and sitting arrangement will also be made available at the school main gate with directions on how to locate your venue so that you can identify your examination venue. You will be given 20minutes grace for those that are perpetual late comers. So if you arrive your exam venue exactly 21 minutes after the commencement of the exam it means you have been disqualified and there is nothing you can do about it. If you know what is good for yourself you go to the school two hours before the commencement of your paper so that you can be familiar with the environment and easily find your way to your venue. Mind you, we start calling names and arranging all the candidates according to their sit number an hour (1hr) before the time scheduled to start the examination, so you just must be at the venue for at least one hour, 30 minutes (1:30 mins) before the commencement of the exam.

I know you are curious and anxiously waiting for when I will mention when the University of Calabar Post-UTME for 2015/2016 academic session will hold. For now there is no date yet and I believe I’ve explain why the date has not been fixed yet, as regards JAMB list and others. We are presently working on that and I believe that in no distance time we will make a public announcement via the school website and newspapers and our blog

THE BRUTAL TRUTH ON WHAT YOU MUST DO AND HOW TO GAIN ADMISSION INTO THE UNIVERSITY OF JOS THIS YEAR.

ITS MY SCHOOL GIST

POST UME DETAILS

THE BRUTAL TRUTH ON WHAT YOU MUST DO AND HOW TO GAIN ADMISSION INTO UNIJOS THIS YEAR.

Most of you, including your very self make this huge mistake of believing that you can easily write and pass Unijos Post-UTME because you pass UTME. It doesn’t work that way. There is a very big difference between UTME and POST-UTME, most especially Unijos post-UTME. In JAMB UTME questions are set in line with your secondary school strategy and marking scheme, but in Post-UTME the questions are not set in line with your secondary school scheme and the marking scheme is totally different. The question will be so confusing that even if you know the answer to the questions you will not be too sure if you are Wright or wrong, because it will be coined in a logical manner that require your logic reasoning Unijos Post-UTME is different from all other school’s Post-UTMEs because it is very easy to fail. In some other schools what they use is only the Post-UTME result, but in Unijos your post-UTME score will be added to your JAMB score and it will now be divided by two.
JAMB SCORE + POST-UTME SCORE/2
The result of the above formula is called the Average score. Your average score is what will determine whether you merit the admission or not.
The only way to prepare for Unijos 2015/2016 Post-UTME is to get the UNIJOS POST-UTME PAST QUESTIONS AND ANSWER MANUAL. It contains all the questions of all the Post-UTME s held in University of Jos since the inception of Post-UTME. With the past question I guaranty you 100% success at the end of your examination. Another mistake that most of you make is that you don’t make hay while the sun shine, you like looking for miracle at the eleventh hour. What I mean is that you don’t do the right thing early; you do it late, when all hope is almost lost. Some of you know that you need the past question but you will wait until the week you are going to write the Unijos Post-UTME before you get it and at the end of the day you find yourself not performing well in the exam despite the fact that you have the past question. The truth is; there is no how you can perform excellently well when you get the past question at the die minute. You must have covered the past question for at least three times before the examination, with that I can assure you that you will pass well and merit your admission on your own without having to stress yourself.

You may be wondering why I am laying more emphasis on this. Last year I had about seven hundred (700) candidates and I ask each and every one of them to obtain the past question early, but most of them think I was preaching while some got it early and start preparing for the exam, and the rest of them got it very late. After the Post-UTME only five percent (5%) out of all the 700 candidates were able to merit admission and those were the people that got the past question early. The rest just wasted their money, time and effort to come for the Post-UTME and go back home while a later help about 70% of the rest of them to gain admission by follow ups and logistics. These are the category of candidates that are financially buoyant. They pay huge amount of money before they could gain admission which they would have avoided if they got the past question earlier. And as for those that does not have the money to run their admission, they lost hope and promise to prepare well the next year and now they have been calling me to help them to obtain the past question even before they wrote JAMB. If you are wise you will make sure you get the past question now and start reading intensively ahead. What will it benefit you if you are not prepared and you come and write the exam and fail after spending all your money and precious time? Call me now and order for your own copy of the Unijos Post-UTME past questions and answers so that you will be very sure that your admission into Unijos is sure this year.

OAU Shut Down Indefinitely Amid NASU Strike (See Details Here)
The management of Obafemi Awolowo University has declared a mid-semester break whereby students are expected to vacate the university community for a period of time yet to be communicated.

This was part of the resolutions of the management following an emergency senate that held on Sunday to review the current campus situation.

A circular issued at the end of the Senate which was signed by the University Registrar, Dotun Awoyemi reads “The Senate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has approved that the students of the University proceed on a mid-semester break with effect from Monday, July 13, 2015. Consequently, all students are advised to vacate the Halls of Residence. The date of resumption will be announced later.”

Though the University management has not tied the mid-semester break to the ongoing NASU protests and strike action, however, indications from several quarters have suggested that the mid-semester break is coming as a result of the agitations by the Students’ Union for a better welfare conditions which can no longer be guaranteed since the members of the Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) who are in charge of power and water supplies have downed tools.

Earlier, the Students’ Union president, Akande Omotayo a.k.a TY has said that he will convey a congress of students on Monday to discuss the total closure of the university should the management fail to accede to the three (3) basic demands of the students at the moment which include power supply, water supply and free flow of vehicles within the university community.

NASU has since upper week Friday, 3rd of July held the university to a standstill as the main entrances to the university were locked up and also retrieved water and power supplies for most periods. The struggle embarked upon by NASU is due to the non payment of the 64 months arrears of her members’ hazard allowances.

Finally: Meet The Boy Whose IQ Is Higher Than Einstein And Bill Gates (SEE PHOTO) – SHARE THIS

There are smart kids and then there are really smart kids. An 11 year old boy from the United Kingdom recently proved just how smart he was with an IQ test score of 162.

This is higher than Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein and Bill Gates.

The news was a shock but young Ramarni Wilfred remained modest. When interviewed by the Romford Reporter he humbly stated that
he couldn’t be compared with those great men as they have gone on to do work that has proved their genius IQ.
Wilfred’s mother was not surprised one bit. Even when he was a baby she knew that there was something extraordinary about her son. By 18 months old she would have conversations about the news with him. His favorite book
at that time was the encyclopedia . Most children at 18 months are still getting their footing while walking and are still trying to sound out words. By the time he was three years old he was about to read and write.

Wilfred was invited to join MENSA which is a
collection of people in the country with the
highest IQs.

One of the youngest people ever to be invited to join MENSA is Alexis Martin from Pheonix, Arizona. She was just three years old when she joined MENSA with an IQ of 160. She learned to read at age two and then after that taught
herself Spanish using her parents’ iPad. At age two most children can barely turn on an iPad let alone teach themselves Spanish with it. Her father knew that there was something special about her. Her IQ score placed her in the
top 2% of intelligent minds in the country.

How to cope without carrying pot on campus

Skimming through the topic, most probably what flashes through your mind is “How is that possible”, Of course it is very possible if you know how to manipulate your ways, but get ready to succumb to one, more or all of the following conditions :

Get Ready To Spend : Since you are feeling somehow too huge to lift a pot and strike a matchbox, get ready to stroll into the abode of mama put and spray some cash to get some stuffs into your ever-worried belly. This is not an easy task though, imagine you eating three times with a purchasing power, calculating it at a rate of #200 per meal if you are not a glutton affiliate, summing up to #600 per day, invariably #4,200 per week and an aggressive aggregate of #16,800 in a month!! COME! Grab a seat and sit next to me, how much is Nigeria’s minimum wage??Leave that aside, how much does it cost to set up a pure water factory somewhere at the backyard of this street?? Imagine you saving that sum for a couple of months, my guy you are already a business man. Ruminate on that. Shoutouts to those guys that do the cooking, not all of you do not have the money to spend but it’s cool to plan your future right from time.

Get Ready To Beg : You know blue blood is not running through your vein and you don’t want that pot to leave a black spot on your skin?? Then let me give you some tactics on how to survive without doing the cooking,by begging. Go to Youtube and download a couple of Basketmouth comedy videos, cram as many as possible, this might take you days to do so. Wake up and scout the person that is cooking out, walk up to him and give him a friendly handshake while you shout ” My Surest Dude! How Your Night Na”, avoid the usage of pure English so it won’t sound like you are forming phonetics, do not leave the guy’s hand after the handshake though, keep shaking him like he just won golden boot and you are to present it to him, then sharply look around for a circumstance that will befit one of the jokes in your head, throw the joke in the air and laugh hysterically as you crack it, remember, laughter at times stimulates laughter… The condition is straight, if you are a dry comedian, you cracked it at the wrong time, or your joke doesn’t seem funny , then you need another means of getting food. Else, he laughs and probably other roommates join in the process, I must say “You don hammer!”, just sit back and wait for the food to get done, then echo the statement “Guy I dey chop o”, you have a 70% chance of eating part of the food. Just note that this tactics wont last you more than five times before they get to know the kind of human being you are.
But why should you go through the whole long process of If’s and Else’s like you are writing python syntax, just for something as simple as “Eating”, it will soil your dignity for sure and very soon they will start insulting you with the punchline, they might even compose personal anthem for you, depending on the category of roomies you have in your possession.
So, get off your high horse, head to the market, get some food stuffs and COOK!!!

Get A Rich Girlfriend : Laughter flows through my pen as I hold it tightly and script down this point. It has no guarantee, but just in case, it must be mentioned but no details. When a typical girl nowadays won’t follow you for a stroll if you don’t get her something like suya to mix her saliva, then you will need to offer her the heart of Mother Theresa before you make your own offer of “Cook For Me”. She will definitely have to love you, and if you are not loveable, then this option is not meant for you, scroll to the next. This will definitely affect your dignity as well and it will hardly last long as someone close to the girl will one day mention “This your boyfriend is broke sha o, na everytime e dey chop 4 here“. Oooops! That’s not the best idea, if you already have this mentality then clear it off your mind, it’s abusive.

Get Ready To Starve : Extracting what starving means, in case you don’t know, it means to suffer severely or die from hunger, to be undernourished, malnourished and to experience a concentrated feeling of near-death discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food, coupled with the desire to but nothing to eat. No simple British English can describe it comfortably, everything is huge and scary, for you to know that starving is not even a considerable option for a normal human being. You will see books and wont be unable to read as they will seem like uneatable chops, you will experience nights filled with nightmares, that’s when you will realize that all cats are gray in the dark, you will walk on the street and get shaky and dangling in the direction of the wind like a drunk monk, then you will know the effect of food on your stamina. But I think at that moment, nobody will tell you to get a pot before you do, even if there is no cooker, you might decide to place it under the hot sun, that’s when you will realize that food is the enhancer of human brain.

Conclusively, all points made but the fact remains the same and it’s obvious it’s not easy surviving without cooking on a Nigerian campus, it’s always better to do, it saves your spending and also reduce your dependency.

CAMPUS ROMANCE: Seven Signs Your Girlfriend Is Still A Teenager

Campus Romance

CAMPUS ROMANCE: Seven Signs Your Girlfriend Is Still A Teenager (SHARE THIS)

First and foremost, there are many 20+ girls who are still teens “mentally”- take your eyes off those balloons one minute- She is still a teen! Don’t you get it?
She might lie about her age but…

Teens are officially humans from age 13-19. That phase seemed to have come at them unexpected and unprepared. That is observed the way they speak, comment, react and relate.

The stage kinda offers them the luxury of making choices, especially selfish ones.
I recently heard that the rate of selfishness among ladies and guys is like 5:3. I heard.

Therefore, most teenage guys quickly get past that selfishness perimeter, but ladies? Hmm!

1. How she relates with you is totally dependent on what her besties tell her.

This some times makes her indecisive and passive in her actions towards you. Today she tells you one thing, tomorrow, another. You can almost see a third party with a kid’s gloves on.

2. She can’t make any relationship work

She may profess how ready she is to make it work, but inside her is like a remote control, she just can’t fit! At any slight disagreement in a “marriage-professed” relationship, she quickly walks away- returns to hibernate in “solo zone”!

3. A girl of excess fantasy with zero reality

I feel concerned when I see a “grown up” girl that should be seeing the part of Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez that has a dream and won’t quit working until it achieves it. Instead, she decides to see the fancy and flexing part that wants to live in a mansion of gold with zero grey matter. I see!

4. Mexican Love movies often becloud her reasoning.

As earlier stated, she can be 30+, but if she thinks that the love story in those movies are real enough to inculcate it in her relationship, then; she is simply running on the Engine of a Teenager. The movies sef are even acted by teens! Hian!

5. At the early stage of your relationship, she frequently play simple and “naive” games to test your love for her.

Y’all know what y’all did…  At least, before you ate the forbidden apple…

6. She dresses, makes up, walks, talks, speaks and acts like a “wannabee adult”

You can tell from her looks if you’ve got “the eye”. I do not dispute the fact that there are many teens who negate this point. They are quite good, 75% good

7. Highly Temperamental Displayed through Mood Swings At Important Moments

The funny thing is, she doesn’t know why! You may call it snubbing you, ignoring your calls… All of these and more buttress my point.

There are just some things only age and maturity can bring.

Relationship is quite an adventure with her kind of partner in a boat.

I must add this, these young, inexperienced folks always think they’re in love, especially with a much older guy. She is not for you guys to explore and deflower. If you snub my advice, what about Karma?

Why not let her go elsewhere or if you have the strength, you coach her aright?

OAU TO BE SHUT DOWN

The disruption of academic, administrative and economic activities as a result of the demonstrations of the members of the Non Academic Staff Union, NASU OAU over their unpaid accumulated 64 months allowances may lead to the closure of the university anytime from Monday, July 13.

The Students’ Union president, Akande Omotayo a.k.a TY addressing the journalists today confirmed his knowledge of the campus situation and has said the Union is observing events critically. The president has said he is waiting till Monday when a Congress of students will be called to determine on shutting down the university if the current situation of inconvenience persists. According to the Union leader, the implication of the Students’ Union shutting the university clearly means that only the Union can re-open it upon recommendations by leaders to her members.

TY further expressed displeasure over the hardship students have been subjected by the fight between NASU and the management. He described the polluted environment of the university as students sitting on ‘time bomb’ as endemic can break out any moment from now.

“As a Students’ Union leadership, what we have to do is to try to ensure our students do not suffer for what they have to suffer for... Our solidarity with NASU is not only based on principle but also based on ameliorating the poor welfare conditions of our students.

“We demanded for an emergency meeting with the management which we had yesterday. Management said we should try to hold on and we made it clear to them, the issue of that our students have resolved not to go to classes does not mean that you (management) and NASU should continue to punish us. That we are still on this campus alone is still punishment. Resolve with NASU and if you don’t resolve with NASU, give us light, water and vehicular movement and our students will go to class.

“...the last time a hostel was cleaned on this university campus was last week Thursday. That means this university as I speak with you is sitting on a ‘time bomb’ because at any time from now, there can be an endemic. That is the consequence!

NASU’s position
The chairman of NASU OAU, Comrade Wole Adewunmi has told journalists late last week that he does not see an end in the tunnel of the current struggle because his members are not satisfied with the commitment and promise of the management so far.

OAU Olofofo reported that the NASU chairman admitted meeting with the management in the course of the week but nothing fruitful has come forth from the meeting.

“We have been having dialogues and series of meetings here and there. They kept promising, promising and promising until today that we have finally realized that they (university management) are not serious and they do not know what they are doing. So it is better we swing into action because if we were to count the months now, it is about 64 months. How can you owe somebody an arrear of 64 months?

“We met with them yesterday, and we had a discussion. The registrar was representing the university management. They made a promise and documented and signed on agreement. Our members however were not satisfied with the decision. So I met with our members and unanimously decided to continue with the protest.

Aside the bulletin pasted around the university campus by the management before the commencement of NASU’s protests detailing the non-availability of fund as the reason for not acceding to NASU’s demands, the University management is yet to release any official statement on the current situation of campus especially the welfare of students since the demonstration.

The last time Obafemi Awolowo University witnessed normalcy as to her activities was Thursday, July 2.

Unijos Students are scared to go to school after blast in jos

Campus News
Unijos students are scared to go to school after a twin blast was reported.
JOS, NIGERIA – Two blasts hit the central Nigerian city of Jos on Sunday evening.
One was reported at a restaurant and another targeting a Muslim cleric who disowned militant group Boko Haram, several witnesses said.

The police's Emmanuel Abuh confirmed there had been two attacks in Jos, but had no further details immediately.
“I saw people running out crying, some with bloodstains,” said resident Bashir Abdullahi, describing the scene after he said a suicide bomber ran into the crowded restaurant.
“I believe many lives were lost.”
The second attack targeted cleric Sani Yahaya Jingir as he was preaching, witnesses said.
Gunmen started shooting sporadically and then there was a loud blast, they said.

“We saw two or three vehicles coming from different directions and we started hearing gunshots from all angles and then a very loud bang, like a bomb being thrown into the mosque,” said witness Abubakar Shehu.

There was no official word on casualties from the two attacks but reports but it at 50.

A Reuters witness at a hospital in Jos said 16 bodies had been brought in.

The bomb which exploded in Jos, Plateau state, central Nigeria, in the midst of a gathering of muslims listening to some sermons on Islam.
